The embryo of the project LA MUDA. A HOLE BETWEEN THE STERNUM AND THE NAVEL. It began taking shape in 2019, conceived as a piece somewhere between an illustrated album and an artist’s book, a compilation of memories, scenes, notes, images, words, engravings, paintings and illustrations.
The first intimate act of resistance and healing to myself.

LA MUDA was born so that no one would read me. It was born to dominate what had happened, and prevent it from dominating me, to control the narrative. Writing made it real.

It is text, plastic art and document as a space of healing through re-signifying places, facts, body, and narrative. It is a report of a childhood sexual assault transformed into literature, tale, painting, theater, and testimony. It’s the fragmentation of the body and the smell of gasoline that sticks it back together. It is the pain in a hole and the embers in the panties, in a girl's breasts, in the throat. It is Lleida’s fog, the stillness and the temblors of Iceland. A literature and a narrative that has lived through the stage, with the need to also inhabit its place of origin: the book, the diary, the intimate.
